Amazing real-life story about several men being stranded on life rafts after a plane crash in the Pacific in 1942. The story focuses on the author and how this harrowing experience transformed him from an atheist and agnostic to a God-fearing Christian. Short, inspiring read!
A friend at work recommended this and it was fascinating!
The book I have chosen to read is 'We thought we heard the Angels Sing' I really enjoyed this book because it was adventurous and a little bit of action and you didnt know what was going to happen next. When my teacher introduced me to this book I didnt think I would like it cause it was supposed to be for science so I thought that its just going to be a dumb science book but when he got into it more I loved it and thats usually not what happens because I don't like reading at all. so I loved it...more

I have this book because my grandfather (Lieutenant Garrity) was one of the medical officers who treated these men when they were finally rescued near the Samoa Islands in 1942 after spending 24 days adrift in two life rafts in a remote part of the Pacific Ocean following an emergency water landing. It's a pretty incredible story of survival!

Short but intense. The author tells how he found faith on a raft in the middle of the Pacific. I had read the account by Eddie Rickenbacker in his autobiography and wanted to read the story from another point of view. Even though I knew the ending, I still couldn't put it down. This book is out of print but I was able to find a used copy from Alibris. I believe it is also available to read online.
I picked this book up last night and I am almost done with it. I was wanting a true story with lots of adventure and real people. I got it.....This book is the BEST true adventure I have ever read. The Men who find Christ in these difficult circumstances and to see the miracles in which only an Almighty God can preform....It is truly AMAZING!

My 90 year old mother advised me to read this book because she remembered praying for these 8 lost men right at the start of WWII. Their missing status was cause for alarm and all Americans were praying. Fabulous read!

How the crewmen of a B-17 bomber survive on a raft in the Pacific Ocean after they ditched during World War 2. The same story as Eddie Rickenbacker's Seven Came Through from another one of the survivors.
This book was one of my Dad's. He recommended it and I still have his copy.
